Good evening 🌛 Today's post is a little long, but it's the first time I've talked about the origins of the brand.
It's already been four months since the brand launched in July 2025.
We have received a lot more warm feedback than we expected, and although we are still a small brand, we are very happy about it.
I would be so happy if I could help you even a little in making self-care a habit.
8ed Studio's Canvas Stretch Mat was born out of the founder's own divorce, as he is now in his 30s and raising two children.
I haven't talked much about it up until now, but recently I've been asked more and more, "Why did you start this brand?", so I'd like to gradually share the "development secrets" with you 📝
"Being healthy in mind and body"
No matter how much AI evolves, no matter how convenient our world becomes, I believe this is an eternal theme that applies to all of humanity, regardless of age, gender, or nationality (sorry for suddenly going on about something so grandiose... 🪐)
No matter what happens in life, good health is essential to eat well, sleep well, laugh well, and live each day in good health and happiness.
To achieve this, various elements such as "exercise," "diet," and "sleep" are intertwined, but even if you can work hard at something temporarily, it's difficult to continue doing it every day. That's why I thought it was important to "systematize" small daily habits.
That's why, around the summer of 2024, we decided to create a high-quality stretch mat that would blend in with the room's decor and be comfortable to use.
I believe that those who pick up 8ed Studio and those who relate to it are people who work really, really hard every day for the people around them.
For people like you, I would like you to make it a habit to stretch at home, even if it's just for five minutes, to help you avoid stress from your busy daily life and reset your mind and body so that you can do your best tomorrow.

With this in mind, we have carefully considered the 10 patterns we have developed, with the aim of creating something that will suit any interior, regardless of gender, and a design that will blend into the room even when left on the floor, creating an exciting design.
We are particular about quality because we want you to use it every day.
I also visited the overseas factories that they partner with, and as far as I know, the working conditions there were by far the best.
They are working hard together with us, striving to create high-quality products rather than cheap mass-produced goods, and they share the same perspective as us.
8ed Studio is probably the first in the world (or at least in Japan) to combine fabrics and materials to create a stretch mat that is soft to the touch, non-slip, and resistant to wear.
I'm really confident in this product, so I would recommend it to anyone who has been struggling with yoga mats and stretching mats for a long time.
